Ami is a leadership coach, entrepreneur and recovering corporate attorney who is committed to supporting professional, ambitious women who are ready to create a life and career that reflect all of who they are.  Driven by the knowledge that authentic connection leads to fulfillment, Ami draws on her own career in law and communications to empower others to reach outside of their comfort zones to build community, gather information and make strategic decisions.

She’s a committed dreamer, who has taken a deep dive on the good, bad and the ugly of how we define ourselves and self-worth. Ami excels at taking complicated ideas and tasks and breaking them up into bite-size pieces. She’s the one who fearlessly raises her hand with pride to ask the “dumb” or “obvious” question, because let's be honest - you wanted to know too.

In her never ending quest to learn more and expand her universe, Ami has become a pro at cultivating new connections to expand her community, and she actually thinks it’s fun. She’s built businesses and learned about career paths through strategic and targeted networking, and loves sharing her tactics so that you too can become a networking maven.

Ami founded her own legal practice, Watkin Legal after spending 4 years in midtown Manhattan as a corporate attorney, first at DLA Piper LLP and then at Morrison Cohen.  Before law school, Ami worked in nonprofit communications, helping NGOs and progressive companies tell their stories in a way that was engaging, honest and true.

Ami has spent time living in London, different parts of Mexico and in Buenos Aires, y se habla español.

When she's not geeking out how to live an authentic life, entrepreneurial hustles or Mexican textiles, you can find her plotting her next international adventure, on the nearest beach or salsa dancing in her living room, attempting to nail those elusive double and triple spins.

Ami graduated from Vassar College with a B.A. in Hispanic Studies, earned her J.D. from Brooklyn Law School and an Executive Certificate in Leadership Coaching from Georgetown University’s Institute for Transformational Leadership.

Ami works with private clients to provide career counseling, career coaching, executive coaching and leadership coaching.
